8910 Metrology Technician Coordinator
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:
Review weekly Metrology calibration shipping / receiving workload and work with the scheduler to ensure the assigned schedule is accurate.
Contact outside vendors to perform Standards calibrations, Standard repairs, equipment repairs, and to order parts, obtain shipping authorization / RMA numbers, when necessary obtain approximate turn-around time.
Perform shipping / receiving of calibrations and repairs for Standards and user equipment. Obtain shipping authorization / RMA numbers from vendors to ship equipment out for service.
Complete all assigned steps on work orders by the scheduled due date.
When work cannot be completed by the scheduled due date, ensure the work is rescheduled to a future date.
Maintain communications with vendors when Standards are out for calibration or repairs; provide routine status updates as requested.
Assist in procurement of Standards, pricing, delivery time, availability and request for additional information on specifications.
In consultation with Metrology Supervisor, determine cost benefit of repair or replacement option when Standards are in need of service.
Manage stock levels of consumable Standards; reorder when necessary.
Submit PO Requests for vendor calibrations and communicate PO’s number to vendors.
Training Requirements:
Attend cGMP training as required by Department policy.
Attend Safety training as required by Department policy.
Complete on-the-job training using established training procedures.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
Must be customer service oriented with good oral and written communication skills, and have pleasant telephone mannerisms.
Must be organized and demonstrate attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, dependability, and proficiency in coordinating tasks.
Strong interpersonal / customer service skills are a must.
Ability to work with minimum or no supervision.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to navigate and use corporate intranet, applications, software, standard word processing, and spreadsheet programs.
Must be able to organize and complete all assigned work by the schedule due date.
Knowledge of fundamental electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or physical principles.
General knowledge of cGMP and GLP practices.
Good problem-solving skills and persistence to resolve outstanding issues as required.
The hiring range for this position is $28 to $31 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
