Project Controls Analyst

Overview:
The Project Controls Analyst (PCA) supports assigned project manager(s) by tracking a portfolio’s budget, forecasting financial spend, monitoring and reporting forecast, and responding to periodic and frequent data analysis requests beyond standard program/project reporting periods.
Manage and report program/project cost data by reviewing both predictive and reactive performance data, including progress, headcount, performance drivers, financial and non-financial metrics, business objectives, and targets.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Ensure the program is following the Company’s cost and schedule reporting guidelines.
Evaluates manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations including preparation of variance analysis.
Work with Project Managers to create cost/schedule baseline budgets.
Report on cost tracking metrics for engineering and construction firms and internal project management teams.
Develop, report, and manage EPC cost data for projects.
Extract cost and schedule information from reporting systems and analyze data to report on financial status of the project.
Perform periodic audits to ensure information integrity exists between Unifier and SAP and alert the PM when corrections are needed.
Review, assist, and take the lead in the preparation of Advance Authorizations, Business Cases and Re-Authorizations and assist PM in routing for approval.
Prepare, obtain approval, and post accruals.
Provide regular communication on project cost to project team members and stakeholders, i.e. EPC’s.
Post monthly EGR’s (EPC, Inspection, PM Costs), Create Shopping Carts and Goods Receipt (GRs).
Create and process CWA’s.
Elevate project and portfolio risks or trends to project manager, stakeholders, and leadership.
Mark projects operative and finalize and record total project costs.
Participate in and possibly lead project cost review meetings.
Involved in the tracking system to ensure that project manager is fully aware of detailed change order status.
Complete periodic and as-needed analysis to gauge financial impact of various project actions.
Participates with management in development of strategies and plans.

Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in technical field such as engineering, CM, or similar is preferred but not required.
At least 5 years of project controls experience.
Experience with SAP and Ariba.
Civil infrastructure projects experience is preferred.
Experience with Primavera 6 scheduling software preferred.
Unifier experience desirable.
