Environmental Technician Support

Duties Involved:
The person will perform microbiology daily/weekly/monthly equipment QC, media preparation, surfzone and offshore monitoring supply preparation, membrane filtration, multiple tube fermentation, nutrient sample preservation, and chromogenic substrate tests for wastewater, ocean water, and potable water. In addition, the person may also assist in microbiology lab housekeeping, monthly bacterial species verification, and special projects.

Computer software requirements:
Microsoft Word, Excel, LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System – preferred but not necessary)

Special Skills Required:
Experience in performing microbiology laboratory analyses including comprehensive microbiology QC work, equipment maintenance, and microbiology lab housekeeping.
Experience in an environmental microbiology lab is desired but not required.

The hiring range for this position is $28 to $33 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
