Assistant Engineer I

Job Details:
The Assistant Engineer I will work in a very busy team-oriented environment.
The Assistant Engineer I responsibilities will provide support to PWSC for energy and cost analysis, address CAISO metering deficiencies, provide support and cross-training for NERC cybersecurity related compliance requirements, and revenue enhancement efforts.
The Assistant Engineer I will prioritize work assignments, be detail oriented and have strong communication skills, work collaboratively with coworkers, perform administrative duties, and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
The Assistant Engineer I may execute mathematical, statistical, and other models or participate on a project team and may perform other related Engineer job duties as required.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:
Learn and assist with planning, coordinating, conducting, and monitoring tests, studies, and investigations.
Learn and assist with preparing technical documents, reports, and presentations.
Learn and assist with technical analyses.
Learn and assist to prepare cost estimates and budgets.
Learn and assist with site inspections.
Learn and assist with maintaining official records, documents, and data.

Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field by hired date.

GENERAL REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE OF: Engineering principles and practices in specific discipline; and current office technology and equipment.

GENERAL REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO: Analyze and interpret data; organize; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task; communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; work independently and in a team environment; and operate current office equipment including computers and supporting applications.
Personable, Team Player, Flexible, Multitask and handles pressure well.
Detail orient, Organized, Strong Written and Verbal Communication skills a must.

The hiring range for this position is $47.85 -$ 53.00 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors
