4837 Biomarker Scientist
Duties:
The scientist will be a key member of the Biomarker Strategy Team, supporting the Biomarker Strategy lead scientist on programs across the pipeline.
They will help develop and successfully execute research strategies in nonclinical and clinical settings to support biomarker development and implementation in clinical trials.
Responsibilities include:
Aid in design and development of innovative biomarker discovery/development strategies to identify clinically useful biomarkers that facilitate identifying patients, understanding pharmacodynamics and characterizing treatment effects on underlying pathobiology.
Participate in interactions with external clinical experts to establish research collaborations and to consult on clinical trial biomarkers and endpoints.
Collaborate with internal and external technical experts to execute biomarker experiments, analyze data and interpret results.
Exploit available large-scale genetic, genomic, phenotypic, and molecular data to support the identification of novel biomarkers.
Work with research and clinical scientists to implement sample collection and analysis in clinical studies.
Oversee validation and conduct of clinically applicable biomarker assays, working with internal scientists and contract organizations.
Generate research reports and present findings to internal research, translational and clinical teams.
Skills:
1-5 years postdoctoral or 1-2 industry experience.
Strong foundation in the biological sciences and publication record (or references) reflecting experience and expertise in the biology of any human disease.
Biomarker research experience would be highly valued.
Expertise in genomic, proteomic, imaging technologies, and/or digital health with an aptitude for learning and using cutting edge tools.
Have a passion for rigorous scientific inquiry into the biology of diverse human diseases.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in cross-functional discussions.
Have an ability to work in a dynamic fast-moving environment and influence within a matrix organization.
Education:
Ph.D in biology, biochemistry or related field.
The hiring range for this position is $58 to $65 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
