The Digital Strategy & Execution (DSE) is a business function within Product Development (PD), the Company’s late-stage clinical development organization. DSE offers business services to PD to sustainably enhance business performance through the development or extension of critical business capabilities (e.g. content & knowledge management, digital transformation of specific business processes).
As a Knowledge Management (KM) Strategy consultant to the PD Knowledge Management Team, you will help PD express its longer-term business needs on KM initiatives in close collaboration with teams in PD and outside of it.
You will be responsible for developing the strategic vision for KM capabilities in Product Development and implementing solutions in partnership with the business, covering both tech- and non-technology elements in your planning and roadmapping.
In close alignment with your business partners and client organizations, you will lead business assessments for new capabilities and, as appropriate, the piloting and/or roll-out of new sub capabilities.
Job Responsibilities:
Thought partner to the PD KM Leader, being the liaison between business and IT on behalf of the PD KM team.
Provide business consulting on cross-functional capability development initiatives in close collaboration with teams within PD and outside of it.
Partner and collaborate globally with functional leaders across PD to drive and refine the strategic planning for capability expansion.
Assist the development of cross-functional capability roadmap(s) through workshops and extensive coordination of business leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs).
Solicit cross-functional and senior leader input into business opportunity definition and projects to meet design, scope and desired outcomes.
Support the annual strategic planning process, including coordinating roadmap updates (ad-hoc as well as planned) and inputs from the functions.
Identify, select, and partner with IT, external contractors and vendors to enhance the Company’s digital capabilities; lead projects to bring these capabilities on board.
Manage a portfolio of digital capabilities and systematically prioritize the opportunities.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in directly-related field (e.g. Natural Sciences, Computer Science/Engineering, or Medicine).
At least 15 yrs of industry experience, ideally including operational management or strategy consulting experience.
Combined with the ability to work in unstructured environments, you will be comfortable with strategy work (incl. business case development, proposal documents/white papers), capable of spanning multiple levels of detail/analysis and used to thinking in a structured way to decompose problems to generate new solutions to old problems.
In addition you have/are:
Experience in Operational Strategy (non-IT), Senior Project Management and/or Functional / Operational roles preferred.
Strong organizational knowledge, leadership and active facilitation to enable effective meetings, productive workshops and strong working relationships.
Enjoy interacting with (and directing) other people in workshop environments and outside.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with (and influence) variety of stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
The hiring range for this position is $130 to $139 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
