7891 Privacy Manager
Summary:
As a Privacy Manager, your role will be to complete privacy impact assessments, working with stakeholders to document relevant details of features and services being launched at the company.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, IT, Security, Risk) to gather information on data flows, processing activities, and technical safeguards.
Conduct privacy and machine learning (ML) reviews of submitted information, partnering with privacy subject matter experts to identify and assess privacy risks and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies.
Support the development and refinement of compliance documentation under the guidance of privacy experts, preparing it for formal review and approval cycles.
Manage multiple documents in various stages of review, tracking progress, and driving timely completion.
Partner with business stakeholders and privacy teams to finalize and deliver required privacy documentation.
Monitor for and identify compliance and operational risks throughout the assessment process.
Coordinate with the privacy incident response team to triage and escalate privacy-related tickets submitted by internal partners as needed.
Skills:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a privacy operations, compliance, or data governance role within a technology or enterprise environment.
Strong knowledge of global data protection laws and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, LGPD, PIPEDA), and their application in enterprise settings.
Proven track record conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and supporting privacy-by-design initiatives.
Experience collaborating with legal, product, engineering, and security teams to operationalize privacy requirements throughout the product life cycle.
Demonstrated ability to interpret technical and business processes to identify privacy risks and recommend practical, scalable mitigation strategies.
Strong program management skills, with 5+ years leading initiatives from planning through execution, including stakeholder reporting and risk tracking.
Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to translate complex privacy and technical concepts to diverse audiences, including global product teams, legal, and executive stakeholders.
Skilled at influencing without authority and driving consensus across cross-functional teams in a global, fast-paced environment.
Experience managing multiple workstreams and documentation efforts simultaneously, with strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
Familiarity with privacy management tools (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc, BigID) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana) is a plus.
Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or CIPT are strongly preferred.
Education:
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
The hiring range for this position is $65 to $75 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
