Senior Electrical Engineer
The Senior Electrical Engineer, Technical Engineering provides technical leadership and accountability for MEP system in the delivery of capital and lifecycle projects and engineering services for research and development (R&D) laboratories, clinical manufacturing related facilities, warehouses, and office buildings.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
The Senior Engineer Electrical will represent the Company’s Technical Engineering in multidisciplinary internal/external project teams.
This person will collaborate across all functional areas to ensure electrical systems comply with the Company’s Good Engineering Practices (GEP) and biopharma standards.
Assist in developing and improving electrical engineering concepts, techniques, and standards.
Assist with the front-end scoping efforts and drives business case documents as required.
Interact with the cross functional teams.
Assist in designing, reviewing, investigating electrical systems including lighting system and basic control systems design, submittal and Request for Information (RFI).
Take ownership of technical engineering projects.
Prepares and presents project technical presentations to managements.
Ensures project work complies with established practices, policies and processes.
Represents the Technical Engineering Team at Project Reviews
Works closely with other functions including finance, validation, operations, labs and facilities operations in reporting project status and adhering to established guidelines and policies.
Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining programs and processes to ensure high quality
of operations, and compliance with UBC, UFC, NEC codes, current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Engineering Practices (GEPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
This position is expected to be an effective communicator of ideas, project goals and results. With
minimal supervision, is expected to make presentations and updates to managements.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
7+ years of relevant experience and a BS in Electrical Engineering.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work in cross functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects.
Experienced working in a self-driven, performance/results oriented, fast paced matrix environment.
Able and willing to be in the field at times with a hands-on approach.
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
Should have familiarity to electrical switchgear, such as switchboard, panelboard, transformer, power metering, lighting system and basic electrical control system.
Prefer experienced with Short Circuit Coordination Study (SCCS) and Arc Flash study.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Visio, MS Project and type more than 20 words per minute.
Effectively communicates with peers and project teams, including engineers, project managers, and subcontractors.
