Electrical/ Controls Designer
Duties
Develop Small/Medium jobs and might work as a Project Work Group Lead
Check CSE documents (all levels of complexity).
Participate in the development of the Company Project Plan.
Develop construction estimates
Review engineering work in scope and coordinate design with engineering.
Work with Engineering to identify deliverables (drawings, specifications, etc.).
Review design schedule and budget.
Review P&ID’s for work in scope, proper symbology and client standards.
Coordinate and provide interface with other disciplines
Field survey and as-built as required to determine accuracy of existing drawings, installation requirements, tie-in points to existing systems, etc.
Request drawings and originals from client.
Request new drawing numbers from client via document control.
Request tag numbers from client via document control.
Develop/Design/Layout/Revise all required drawings.
Initiate and maintain a stack of the latest drawing revisions for reference.
Develop and maintain a drawing list including current revision and drawing title.
Verify selected material components meet client preferences.
Develop and maintain bill of material list for non-engineered materials.
Ensure logical flow and clear presentation of drawing package.
Check all products prior to final independent check.
Help assemble package for final signoff by Design and Engineering.
Coordinate signoff.
Arrange plot and print time.
Maintain in-house client drawing libraries (stick files) for future reference.
Assign and direct work to subordinates.
Perform design calculations.
Capable of creating more complex wiring & control schematics.
Understands design sequence/prerequisites.
Responsibilities
Status and Track job progress with the Company’s software.
Attend project meetings.
Perform inter discipline group checks.
Review vendor documents.
Participate in drawing reviews.
