6244 Sr Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager, Scientific Collaborations and Exhibits, will work with the Business Strategy & Operations Manager and team to execute USMA BioOncology’s Scientific Congress planning and execution for scientific meetings such as ASCO, ASH, SABCS, and AACR.
In addition, they will work closely with USMA medical teams, PD, gRED, and pRED to develop pipeline product and clinical trial communication plans to drive content development for use at Scientific Congresses and other applicable activities.
Cross-functional collaboration and coordination with the Commercial organization will be required to ensure activities are aligned and appropriate content is shared while adhering to all compliance, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
This role is within USMA Oncology Hematology and could have increasing responsibilities based on business needs.
This role will report directly to the Lead, Program Manager, Scientific Collaborations and Congresses.
As Senior Project Manager, Scientific Collaborations and Exhibits, your major areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Execute on and partner to develop, deliver, and manage the annual Scientific Congress strategy and tactics for all assigned product(s)/disease area(s), ensuring alignment with business needs.
Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop relationships across Scientific Congress teams, and compliantly cultivate strategic partnerships with external groups and stakeholders.
Support the program manager to coordinate and manage external agencies and vendors for congress planning and scientific content development.
Lead the development, maintenance, and review/approval process for scientific content to be used in Scientific Congresses and other relevant activities.
Manage assigned aspects of Scientific Congresses, including medical/pipeline booth coordination, booth content/materials, ancillary meeting space, logistical requests, and other related activities.
Manage all administrative activities, including healthcare compliance reporting and other requirements.
Collate and provide cross-functional teams with performance metrics for Scientific Congresses, including progress and trend reporting to key stakeholders.
Develop best practice project management for Scientific Congresses to ensure goals, objectives, and performance metrics are met and/or exceeded.
Identify new opportunities to streamline business processes.
Network with relevant cross-functional groups (PDMA, PD, gRED, pRED, Commercial) to ensure alignment and collaboration, where appropriate.
Manage assigned budgets to ensure compliance with agreed parameters.
Ensure timely execution of all deliverables within budget parameters.
Act as a guardian for high standards of compliance, ethics, and safety.
Responsibilities may increase with the expansion of the role (based on business needs).
5 or more years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
Prior experience in scientific collaborations, congresses, exhibits, product marketing, market or pipeline strategy, medical affairs, or product development.
3 or more years of oncology and/or hematology experience preferred.
Strong business acumen: possess knowledge of products and services provided by clients, and multidisciplinary functions involved in the drug development process.
Demonstrates strategic agility and has the ability to identify new opportunities to streamline business processes and develop best practices.
Strong project and process management skills.
Can prioritize multiple tasks and goals to ensure they are on time, on target, and within budget.
Strong communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills.
Can communicate in a timely, thorough, and concise manner and is comfortable presenting information to others at varying organizational levels.
Possess negotiation, interpersonal, and partnering skills: demonstrates leadership skills, work well within teams, and is effective in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong financial acumen.
Have proven abilities for effective planning, development, and oversight of project budgets and other resources.
Willing to travel at least 50% of the time depending on business needs.
Bachelor’s Degree (life sciences or business discipline is preferred).
Graduate or higher-level Degree (e.g., MBA, PharmD, PhD) is preferred.
