6204 MRO Parts Technician
Summary:
Responsible for maintaining & purchasing an inventory of equipment parts and consumable materials in
support of maintenance, manufacturing, quality control, and process development groups.
Responsible for assisting MRO Parts Technicians and other storeroom staff.
Job Responsibilities- Essential:
Manage inventory of equipment parts and consumable materials in support of process
development, maintenance, manufacturing, quality control, and other related areas utilizing
industry-wide standard inventory control practices.
Technical proficiency with Procurement systems and tools required.
Will be responsible for creating and managing purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
Utilize a computerized inventory control system (SAP) to identify, track and receive materials.
Track purchase orders, perform cycle count of inventory, reconcile actual stock count to
computer-generated reports.
Perform parts staging for Maintenance Work Orders and other planned activities.
Maintain kanbans for various customers.
Assist mechanics, technicians, and other customers with identifying parts and materials.
Perform routine clerical duties including data entry, answering telephones and assisting over-the-counter customers.
Maintain accurate master data.
Follows established safety and environmental guidelines and procedures for all work performed.
Immediately reports safety and environmental incidents including injuries, illnesses, near misses,
and safety suggestions.
Fosters a positive safety culture in which no one gets hurt.
Education and Experience:
High school graduate.
5 years experience working with or familiarity with a Maintenance Management System.
5-7 years experience working in a large parts department in manufacturing or facilities (MRO)
the environment is highly preferred.
3-5 years experience with procurement and purchasing activities and functions.
APICS Certification is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with GMP requirements and operating in a FDA-regulated environment.
Familiarity with materials and tools used in the biotech manufacturing facility.
Ability to identify industrial machinery components (pumps, motors, belts, actuators, bearings,
gaskets, seals, etc.).
Ability to understand nomenclature for industrial parts and equipment.
Familiarity with computer OS and proficiency with applications such as Microsoft Windows,
Microsoft Office, as well as SAP.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to prepare reports using the computerized inventory management system (SAP).
Customer service skills emphasize the ability to interact with people of different backgrounds
and skill levels.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that may require handling multiple tasks at any given
time.
Ability to process transactions and receipts in an accurate manner.
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Safety Considerations:
Expected shift is Mon-Fri, 8-hr shifts. However, the schedule MAY include a non-rotating 4-day (10
hour shift), one weekend day, evening or night hours, or full off-shift hours as needed to cover
vacations, absences or holidays.
Expected to be on feet for 8 to 10 hours a day.
Climb upwards of 6 flights of stairs a day to maneuver within the manufacturing facility.
Lifting up to 50lbs may be required.
May work in the clean room environment that requires gowning in the form of hospital scrubs,
bunny suits, gloves and steel toe boots be worn.
Also, no make up or jewelry can be worn when working in the clean room environment.
May work with hazardous materials and chemicals.
