Our Research & Development group is responsible for everything from research and discovery to post-market clinical development.
Within the broader R&D group at the Company, we are the Delivery Team and are responsible for pioneering and developing targeted drug delivery technologies using chemistry, chemical biology, and molecular engineering.
We are seeking a highly motivated and promising early career research associate to join the Delivery Group within the Research Department at the Company.
We are looking for a candidate to synthesize and build polymer-based bioconjugates for targeted drug delivery of small molecules, peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotides.
With a growing track record of success and strong interest in polymer chemistry, the candidate must have prior experience synthesizing biopolymers and drug-conjugates.
The candidate must be able to think analytically, problem solve, and have strong knowledge of fundamental principles in the fields of materials science, polymer science, and/or drug delivery.

Working at the interface of various therapeutic modalities, the candidate will be exposed to new thinking, perspectives, and delivery solutions to treat rare genetic diseases.
The Research Associate 1/2 will partner closely with various research team members to provide polymer chemistry and analytical support for early exploratory projects.
The successful candidate will contribute to multiple pre-clinical projects by developing and optimizing new polymer-based drug delivery systems.
They will also need to maintain a high degree of curiosity and a strong desire for continuous learning.
Synthesis of polymer-based drug delivery systems to support various project area needs.
Optimize and troubleshoot current polymer chemistry efforts for the Delivery Group.
Collaborate with colleagues from biology research to assess structure-activity-relationships and identify lead biopolymers.
Build expertise in macromolecular science and applications in targeted drug delivery.
Contribute to data analysis and present results in group meetings.
Thoroughly document synthetic procedures and results.
Experience with polymer synthesis and chemistry; desired experience specifically with controlled radical polymerization techniques.
Candidate must have knowledge and experience with analysis of biopolymers; desired experience with GPC/SEC-MALS and NMR.
Experience working in the drug delivery space; desired experience working with proteins, peptides, and/or oligonucleotides.
Ability to follow protocols and perform experiments independently.
Willingness to learn new synthetic chemistry.
The position requires organization skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced setting.
B.S. degree with at least 4 years of lab experience; M.S. degree with at least 2 years of relevant lab experience.
