Description:
The person in this position will undertake challenging work involving Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) permitting, and CEQA and conditional use permit approval for Refinery projects.
Working with highly collaborative project teams, this person will assist the refinery with air-quality and land-use permitting and advise project teams on equipment design needed to comply with environmental regulations.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include evaluating projects for air permit applicability, including emission calculations. Developing air permitting and compliance strategy.
Preparing permit applications.
Interfacing with refinery management and technical groups, BAAQMD permit engineers, and CEQA agency consultants.
Developing technical and regulatory arguments to support flexible permit conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering, or related science degree and at least five years of oil and gas industry.
Professional experience working with air permits and regulations.
Assignment Deliverables:
Air permit applications for several capital projects.
