1485 Lab Technician I
Summary:
The open laboratory technician position involves working in the GC (Gas Chromatography) and Resid Team in the Global Lab Service Unit.
This team is responsible for Pilot Plant Operations and Refinery Tech Support.
The successful applicant will work with the lead chemist on a variety of routine and research projects, which support the analytical needs of all Chevron operating companies.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will prepare samples (dilutions, standards, solvent extractions) perform standard and non-standard analytical measurements using Gas Chromatography (conventional GCMS and GC-FID ) and wet chemistry.
Competency in maintaining and repairing lab apparatus.
Helping the lead scientist responsible for the GC lab with more advanced analytical methods and performing experiments associated with strategic research.
Oversee all safety-related aspects of the Environmental lab including maintaining chemical inventory, checking waste containers to comply the safe practices and requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Gas Chromatography (conventional GCMS and GC-FID) and wet chemistry experience required.
Recent academic lab and instrumentation experience.
Bio-Chemistry lab experience.
Excellent documentation skills and competency with Microsoft Excel.
Good planning, organizing, and flexibility skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferable in Chemistry or related science area with 0-3 years lab experience.
