1218 Instrument Technician
Duties:
Provide support to multiple laboratories located in different buildings by ordering supplies, coordinating vendor visits with facilities and vendors, and help maintain GMP status for instruments.
Providing support for continuous improvement projects for Facilities, Quality, and Small Molecule QC Lab.
Coordinating with Facilities & Instrument Services to create repetitive maintenance plans.
Ordering chemicals and supplies.
Conducting routine inspections of the labs to ensure compliance with local housekeeping and Environment, Health and Safety practices.
Support special projects and investigations as needed.
Independently manage time to ensure on-time completion of all routine activities related to instrument lifecycle (e.g., preventative maintenance activities).
Participate in system to monitor lifecycle activities of instrumentation.
Initiate and maintain lifecycle of multiple analytical instruments that are used in testing small molecules. The lifecycle includes initial qualification, calibration, preventative maintenance, and decommissioning of analytical instrumentation.
Ensure all work is completed efficiently under GMP compliance to maximize operations.
Skills:
Experience in the qualification, calibration, maintenance of GMP instrumentation including, but not limited to, HPLC, GC, LCMS, dissolution testers, titrators, and FTIR.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to think and act independently when performing routine tasks.
Leadership experience in a highly collaborative team environment (academic or work).
Experience serving and developing a strong strategic partnership with clients.
Strong computer, scientific and organizational skills.
Strong Windows OS and permissions skills a plus.
Excellent communication (oral and written); excellent project management skills including the ability to manage project resource requirements (material, personnel resource, time, etc.), and ability to recommend and elevate relevant issues to appropriate leadership.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with internal and external clients, self motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Ability to learn new techniques, perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
Ability to participate in global cross-functional teams and work effectively in a highly matrixed team environment.
Excellent judgment, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Education:
S./B.A in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Analytical Sciences and 1+ years of relevant experience.
