0796 Procurement Specialist
Responsibilities may include:
Place, expedite and administer both routine and complex purchase and/or service orders and single-event contracts with proper terms and conditions included on all purchase-service orders.
Provide guidance and instructions to Engineering Firm Procurement Team.
Support the execution of the Refinery contract plan and appropriate spend channel management, in collaboration with local Category Specialists.
Prepare RFP/RFQ documents, bid tabulations, perform supplier qualification activities, complete negotiations and make recommendations for award on purchases not covered by existing contracts.
Provide Purchasing leadership and execution support for Refinery Turnarounds.
Coordinate material movements with suppliers, freight forwarders and carriers as necessary.
Provide business partners with market information (e.g. bid estimates, pricing trends, availability of goods).
Conduct routine supplier management discussions with key suppliers to drive performance.
Provide systematic order tracking, status and expediting, and monitoring of critical orders as needed. Assist with all commercial issues during the equipment procurement cycle.
Resolve complex problems and take appropriate actions within delegation of authority limits.
Assist warehouse personnel with goods receiving issue resolution.
Able to communicate effectively with Engineering, Project Controls and Leadership Teams.
Candidates must have direct procurement, contracting and/or supply chain experience.
Experience working in a refinery and/or working for an Engineering/Procurement Firm (EP Firm) supporting a refinery is preferred.
Knowledge of SMART by GEP eProcurement System preferred.
Min of 5-7 years working experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business-related field such as Supply Chain Management or Engineering is preferred.
