The Gene Therapy Research group in CA is looking for a highly motivated Research Associate to join our Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) Purification and Analytics team.
In this role, you will purify standard and novel AAVs using established protocols as well as characterize purified material using state-of-the-art analytical tools under our supervision.
In addition, a successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in exploratory and pipeline projects and learn about the research and manufacturing side of gene therapy drug development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform standard AAV purifications and purified material characterization following established protocols.
Maintain an accurate electronic laboratory notebook to record daily activities and experimental results.
Prepare or update protocols and other documents, as needed.
Effectively communicate experimental findings and collaborate with other team members.
Perform assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.
Skills:
Experience working in a laboratory setting is highly desirable, but not essential.
Virus and/or protein purification experience using FPLC and/or HPLC chromatography is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Openness and willingness to learn new skills and/or laboratory techniques is a must.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Compensation Range: $31.00 to 42.87/hr
